THE PILLARS OF THE SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY
DISCOVER OUR THIRD SUSTAINABILITY REPORT!
The values of sustainability and the circular economy are an integral part of our organisation and our business strategy.
This concrete commitment has also been recognized by the prestigious magazine Forbes, which in 2021 and 2022 listed us among the Italian companies most involved in the development of ecological transformation and sustainability processes. We are very proud of this!
A cornerstone of our strategic approach is the circular economy, which is considered essential for the protection of the environment and sustainable development by all the international protocols and that is a primary objective of the European industrial vision. But not only that, we believe that in addition to the environmental aspects, also the social and economic aspects of our business have a leading role in our sustainable development path, and that all these aspects of our business should be shared with all those who are do part of our… ‘Mondo’ world.
It is with great pleasure, that we want to briefly present you our third Sustainability Report, a document drawn up according to the GRI guidelines (GRI – Global Reporting Initiative is the organisation that defines the sustainability standards of reference for organisations all over the world) and certified by the external body Certiquality.
Our Report is a snapshot of our commitment to current and, above all, future sustainability, thanks also to the suppliers of services and raw materials, customers and local administrators, who contributed to the evaluation of our activities and the identification of the areas in which we can still improve.
OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
As Mondorevive, we strongly believe in enhancing our business through a “Group Policy for Quality, the Environment, Energy, Health and Safety”, inspired by the principles of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
Since 2020, a Group Code of Ethics has been defined and adopted to regulate our way of interacting with all our internal and external stakeholders, in compliance with the law, the ILO Conventions (the United Nations International Labor Organization) and other relevant international treaties and conventions.
It is also with great pleasure that we want to inform you of two other initiatives that we believe are particularly stimulating for the development of relationships with our employees and our supply chain:
- the ‘World of ideas!’ project, already launched started in Busto Arsizio, which is aimed at creating a widespread innovation system through the involvement and participation of our staff in the pursuit of corporate objectives, and on mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, with particular attention to the development of relationships of continuous collaboration (partnerships).
- the implementation, starting from this year, of a ‘whistleblowing’ mechanism, which guarantees to everyone, whether they be employees (for whom the process is already active) or third parties (e.g., suppliers, customers, local communities) the possibility to report problems and concerns related to the company management in a confidential and protected way.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
From 2020 to 2022 we increased the purchase of electricity from renewable sources from 26% to 42%. While the photovoltaic energy produced annually in the Busto Arsizio and Ferentino plants totals 1.2 million kWh, contributing further to the reduction of our CO2 emissions.
THE TREND ON CO2 EMISSIONS
The trend in CO2 emissions deriving from the group’s activities is overall decreasing, both in absolute value (-16% in the 2020-2022 three-year period) and in intensity compared to production levels (-16%).
OVER 95% OF OUR WASTE IS DESTINED FOR RECOVERY
In the 2020-2022 three-year period, the waste produced by the group’s production sites (Busto Arsizio, Ferentino and Chignolo Po) was significantly reduced, from 76.7 to 30.9 kg/t per unit of product.
24% OF THE PRODUCTION MANAGED BY THE GROUP IS MADE UP OF RECYCLED PVC (OR PVC FILM)
In 2022, the Group generated approximately 46,000 tonnes of products, of which approximately 10,000 tonnes consisted of plastic waste transformed into secondary raw materials.

VINYLPLUS 2030
Our European Commitment to Sustainable Development
For the Mondorevive Group, sustainable development is the cornerstone of responsible and inclusive growth, where environmental aspects can be considered a driving force for innovation and competitiveness.
Since 2011, we have been a partner of VinylPlus®, the commitment to sustainability of the European PVC industry.
Launched over 20 years ago, this commitment has been developed through an open dialogue with all stakeholders including industry, NGOs, regulators, civil society representatives and PVC users.
In June 2021, building upon more than 20 years of progress and achievements, VinylPlus launched VinylPlus 2030, the new ten-year Commitment to sustainable development of the European PVC industry. With this renewed Commitment, VinylPlus aims to contribute proactively to addressing the global sustainability challenges and priorities. Three ‘paths’ and 12 ‘action areas’ have been identified embracing the PVC value-chain’s circularity, its advancement towards carbon neutrality, minimisation of the environmental footprint of PVC production processes and products, as well as its engagement with stakeholders and global alliances.
VinylPlus has always been strongly committed to raising awareness of sustainability along throughout the PVC value-chain and among other interested parties, both inside and outside the industry, and is an excellent example of how effective voluntary actions by the industry can be, able to achieve concrete and measurable objectives and results recognized by many stakeholders.
