INTRODUCING OUR FOURTH SUSTAINABILITY REPORT!

In 2015, the United Nations developed an action program for people, the planet, and prosperity, identifying 17 Goals (Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs) related to economic growth, social well-being, and environmental protection.

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals are outlining a new path of responsibility for companies worldwide.

That is not all. The ESG factors (Environmental, Social, Governance – Environmental, Social and Economic criteria) underlying the SDGs are increasingly influencing companies’ ability to operate, grow, and generate value, both in the present and the long term.

They therefore represent opportunities to be seized to maintain and increase competitiveness. In this context, 11 Sustainable Development Goals relate to the social sphere, and 5 goals are specifically dedicated to the environment.

A way to underline that at the basis of every sustainability strategy, after many years dedicated only to the environment, there are now, and increasingly, people… Our people!

The 2023 Sustainability Report of Mondorevive Group is in line with the vision brought by the SDGs, and this is complemented by the Values derived from the new Code of Ethics, the IQ NET SR10:2015 certification, the Gender Equality certification according to UNI/PDR 125:2022, obtained in 2023, and our collective commitment to follow this already paved path.

Transparency towards all stakeholders is a fundamental principle that guides our Group in all activities and also translates into the voluntary annual drafting of the Group’s Sustainability Report, first published in 2021: the document annually reflects the Company’s sustainability journey, highlighting its commitment around the world through its main companies and business relationships.

The Sustainability Report always gives me the opportunity to observe Mondorevive, which I will always call Mondoplastico, from a privileged perspective, the one that looks to the future, and to share some reflections.

According to our mission, the Group aims to offer high-quality products through a sustainable model based on innovation, passion, and expertise.

Mondoplastico has evolved to consider economic, social, and environmental sustainability as the compass guiding its corporate strategy and multiplying positive impacts on the company and the communities in which it operates, thus becoming the Mondorevive Group.

Even in 2023, all corporate functions worked to consolidate this approach, which involves everyone, in the logic of a group active at the international level, integrated into a family-owned business with a global vision.

The United Nations’ 2030 Agenda and the EUROPEAN GREEL DEAL show us an ambitious scenario, urging us to face the numerous challenges that affect our reality from every perspective.

We want to be, for our stakeholders, “enablers” or facilitators on many topics: from the circular economy, in which we are key players, to the innovation we provide to those who transform and, ultimately, use our products.

A vision as vast as the world

Mondorevive acquires the capability to produce MPS, recovering waste and safeguarding the planet.

The companies within the Mondorevive S.p.A. group (Mondorevive, Caltek, and MondoSD) have a Quality Management System UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and an Environmental Management System UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certified by CSI Spa.

The entire organization has adopted an Ethical Code to share with its employees, suppliers, and partners the respect for ethical and social values that are an integral part of the Mondorevive group.

Through the acquisition of MondoSD – Sustainable Development, Mondorevive has initiated a new project for sustainable development and the circular economy to promote the use of recycled raw materials within the production cycle and value chain.

The MondoSD organization enables the recovery of plastic materials from both industrial processes and post-consumer sources and is capable of issuing a certification confirming that the waste materials provided have been tracked and processed to become Secondary Raw Materials, thus losing their waste status and avoiding disposal.

MondoSD has obtained certification for its plastic by-products management process (ref. art. 184bis Dlgs 152/06 and UNI 10667) and the management of Secondary Raw Materials MPS (ref. art. 184 ter Dlgs 152/06 and UNI 10667).

PVC: AN INCREASINGLY SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL

Cutting-edge technology to protect our planet while maintaining high product performance

How we improve day by day

LOW-CARBON PVC is a low-carbon plastic: 57% of its molecular weight is chlorine, derived from common salt; 5% is hydrogen, and only 38% is carbon.

LCA AND ECO-EFFICIENCY PVC allows for various formulations while maintaining the same technical performance and even improving the safety and sustainability of finished products.

SAFE FORMULATIONS PVC enables the modification of formulations while maintaining the same technical performance and even enhancing the safety and sustainability of the end products.

Perhaps not everyone knows that

PVC is classified as a ‘non-hazardous substance’ according to the European Reach Regulation on chemical substances. Currently available technologies ensure nearly complete recovery of vinyl chloride monomer or VCM through closed-loop operations. For many decades, dioxins are no longer a concern for the PVC industry. PVC has inherently self-extinguishing properties and does not contribute to flame spread.

European Voluntary Commitment

Mondorevive’s objectives are as ambitious as they are defined.

Our Objectives

800.000 ton

of recycled PVC by 2020

Since 2011, Mondorevive S.p.a. has been a partner of VinylPlus®, the ten-year voluntary commitment of the European PVC industry for sustainable development.

Through VinylPlus, we contribute to the goal of recycling 800,000 tons/year of PVC by 2020 and 900,000 tons by 2025, in line with the commitments made to the EU Commission as part of the European Strategy for Plastics in the Circular Economy.

Give new life to your industrial waste. The environment thanks you

Mondorevive Group, through its company MondoSD, is engaged in the certified recovery and recycling of PVC, PET, PP, and PE from both industrial processes and post-consumer sources.

An integrated service toward a circular economy

MondoSD S.r.l., a company within the Mondorevive S.p.a. group, operates through authorized and certified facilities that, thanks to specialized personnel, enable the recovery, collection, grinding, regeneration, and recycling of plastic materials, including extrusion, molding, blowing, and thermoforming products.

MondoSD S.r.l.’s facility is part of the Recovinyl® network, an organization established within the European PVC industry’s Voluntary Commitment to facilitate the collection and recycling of PVC waste, acting as an intermediary between recyclers and converters. Recovinyl registers and certifies the volumes of recycled PVC under the VinylPlus® program, based on the EUCertPlast protocol.

Certifications and Traceability

MondoSD S.r.l. is capable of issuing a certification confirming that the waste materials provided have been tracked and processed to become Secondary Raw Materials (MPS), enabling them to re-enter the production cycle after losing their waste status.

Sustainable Solutions

Our present is our future

The constant search for increasingly sustainable solutions.

We are constantly in search of more sustainable solutions for the production of our films, in line with our values of environmental preservation.

Mondorevive S.p.a.’s primary interest is to live and dwell in an environment that is as pleasant and unpolluted as possible, to keep it clean for future generations. This is all while meeting the market’s demands.

Since 2011, we have been a partner of VinylPlus®, the ten-year voluntary commitment of the European PVC industry for sustainable development. Through VinylPlus, we contribute to the goal of recycling 800,000 tons/year of PVC by 2020 and 900,000 tons by 2025, in line with the commitments made to the EU Commission as part of the European Strategy for Plastics in the Circular Economy.
